Did it still work? Have you ever gone inside and tired to call someone?
Who would I call?
I have no idea if it still works, but they are scattered all over the city and most have phones. Regardless, they are still a brilliant burst of color against brownstones and whitewashed walls.
wow, what a touching piece.
Thanks.
I was hoping to make an inanimate object come alive and I think it worked!
Love the photo and the poem. Haunting and lovely.
Thank you.
There are haunted corners all over London and they all have a brilliant story to tell.
Double whammy, excellent! Perfect poem, perfect image.
Thanks!
That shot is one of my favorite in that I can’t believe it turned out! Now its even better because I got a few lines out of it.
Lovely poem and photo.
Thank you!
The photo is amazing; and your words, especially the last two lines, are a wonderful melding ~
Thank you.
The best lines come when you least expect them . . . in this case 5 minutes before I posted.
Thanks for reading.
What better place to leave a bicycle
than fettered to a wrought-iron fence?
Lol!
You’ve got to love the irony.
To most Americans, irony is a metallic element, chemical symbol Fey.
nice poem and photo. I like the lines: wounded windows never heal. fine.
Thanks.
I was surprised when the phrase “wounded windows” came flying out. It’s the one line in this that never changed or moved.
Versatile wordsmithing for sure!!
Thanks!
London continues to be full of surprises.
This made me smile!
I really like this. The imagery goes perfectly with the picture. Really very cool.
Thank you!
I still stare at this picture a lot (it’s often a desktop wallpaper) and it always inspires.
