An open gate
calls your name
Wrapped in solitude
listen, be free
Green sings
in myriad hues
The breeze invites
a soft embrace

Thanks for sharing.
Great picture, C.B.! Would make a great book cover.
Thanks! I have a thing for benches and gates when I take pictures and this one got the best of both.
Mmm,” the breeze invites/a soft embrace” Love that last part.
Jim
Thanks!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. There really was a lovely breeze that day.
this is a lovely setting….a place I will never see up close and personal.
You never know, maybe one day you will.
It was a beautiful place and it was sheer luck that I ended up on that park bench.
Lovely poem, lovely setting…
Thank you!
After a busy morning, I’m already wishing I was there to soak up the peace and quiet.
I can feel your moment! Lovely photo!!
Thank you!
It was a wonderful moment and I think of it often.
I think this is my favorite of all your poems. It really touched me.
Thank you.
Oh, wow.
Your comment is why I write. Thank you for reminding me.
Wish my front yard is as serene-looking as this.
Me, too!
Thanks so much for reading!
What a lovely place to do absolutely nothing.
It was definitely a nice place to clear my head . . . and do nothing for once in my life.
Looks like a great place to set up my laptop and feel the breeze in my hair – and maybe jot down a poetic word or two. Or better yet, sit with a friend and listen to birdsong.
The last line sounds like the perfect thing for that bench.
I can imagine myself on that bench surrounded by all the singing hues of English garden greens.
Whenever I’m having a stressful day, I think of this place and it always soothes my nerves. It was so quiet and beautiful!
Ooh, I loved all of this (poem and picture!). Lovely =)
Thank you!
This picture was on my desktop for a long time. Its a nice reminder to sit down and breathe when the day gets overwhelming.
