I’m going to ride that some day just to say I did.
It’s worth it. I went on it the first time I went to London and it was incredible! Go at sunset if you can.
Great photo.
Thanks!
Fantastic.
Thank you!
excellent shot!
Thank you! It’s one of my favorite!
Wonderful post — loved it, perhaps even moreso as I remember sitting in St. James Park, catching my breath after a lot of walking, gathering my thoughts and impressions … it was so peaceful..
Even with the tourists rushing about, St. James is always so peaceful. A very different feel from Hyde Park.
Fearless or meek? Sometimes I am one; another time the other. Enjoyed this post and wishing to visit St. James Park some day.
There’s a little bit of both in everyone, I think.
I hope you get to St. James park one day.
You’ve captured the emotion of thrill riders.
I never would have believed I’d have the nerve to ride so many coasters at Islands of Adventure in Florida, but couldn’t let the kids see my fear! lol
I’m usually a pretty calm person, but put me in front of roller coaster and I become a daredevil. I will go on every scary ride there is!
Me, too, unless I know I will be left hanging upside down. After falling on my head as a kid, I kind of have a phobia about being upside down.
That’s a good shot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the eye from that location before.
Thanks!
The view of Buckingham usually steals everyone’s attention at St. James Park. It’s amazing what you see when you turn around.
That’s such a peaceful shot of the water and trees, and then my eye sees “the eye” .I really like the contrast of nature with engineering. I rode the eye as the sun was setting and lighting up the dome of St.Paul’s. Perfect time of day to see London from that vantage point.
I did the exact same thing! I rode the London Eye on the last rotation just as the sun was setting. It was incredible!
Great shot – thank you for sharing the memory!
Thanks!
Next time I go back, I’m going to try and get a shot of the Eye from the South side of the Thames, (but not from the embankment). I love capturing icons like that from unique angles.
