Lovely! My daughter is sitting next to me and said, “I like that picture, Mom!”
How cool is that!?
Glad you both enjoyed it!
Very pretty imagery, and I love the picture.
Thank you. The picture definitely inspired the words (and so did the memory of walking through this lane).
I love these alleys and back ways.
Jim
I stumbled upon many of them during my London wanderings. This was one of the first I ever tread.
Great shot – did you enhance the reds or did it magically come out this way? : )
All I did was add a tinge of antique shading. The reds were vibrant in the original shot and they stayed strong even with a layer of “grime.”
don’t you just love walking down hidden streets like that??
It’s one of my favorite things to do in London and any European city/town.
It’s so Harry Potterish! Beautiful as always.
Diagon Alley could be right around the corner.
LOVE THIS! The poem and the photo!
Thanks! I tried to find this street during my last trip, but it remains a mystery I’ve only seen once.
You’ve described this perfectly. What a step back in time. You’re making me want to go to London one day!
I hope you do! It’s magic down every street.

Great shot and awesome words.
Thank you, on behalf of the words.
The image and words match eachother perfectly!
Images always inspire poetry for me. I’ll never know why, but the words just pop into my head.
Your words capture the mood and place! What a great photo…a place for exploring…what’s the shop at the end of the alley?
The shop at the end is The Body Shop (skin and hair care). A long time ago I worked at one, so part of the reason I took the shot from this angle was to capture part of that awning.
Wonderful
So many stories can be written just by looking at this picture. What’s happening behind each window? Who is the person who stopped to take the photograph, and why? If we wait another moment, what might come down this narrow street? So many possibilities.
I know!! The same thoughts went through my head while I was walking down this street.
Gorgeous words, gorgeous image, gorgeous paths they send me on…..
Yay!
May you travel with imagination.
