Grasmere is a beautiful village in England’s Lake District. The writer inside of me delighted in walking the same pathways as William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. However, my greatest joy came with spending time in a pastoral setting which inspired one of my favorite authors, Beatrix Potter. Grasmere is usually full of tourists, but its easy to escape the hoopla if you take a short trek through the centuries old cemetery or into the green fields full of grazing sheep. Lean against a dry stone wall and listen carefully . . . you just might hear the tiny patter of mist droplets against flowing blades of grass.

The Lake District is one of those places that defies imagination. Just when you think it can’t get any more beautiful, you turn a corner and find yourself amazed once more.

Serene is a fantastic word for Grasmere. It’s the only place on earth (besides) Wisconsin) where its quiet enough to hear the grass move.

I really like the addition of your words to the photos. This combo is the perfect antidote to stress!
I’m going to keep working at photo-editing. It’s a lot of fun alter pictures with so many different possibilities. I’m still figuring out text and hopefully that will start to look even better over the next year.

Yes! That is exactly how it feels when you’re standing in that spot.
That gorgeous green is so beautiful compared to the bland white I see outside at this time of year. It warms me and makes me wish I could travel to those English meadows.
I have this photograph on my desktop. When I get tired of looking at brown desert landscape, I just have to look at English green.
