22 Moments of Gratitude

Standard

One of my favorite bloggers, Cindy Archer, recently posted a list of 22 Things about herself.  I found it so inspiring I decided to play with the idea.  With Thanksgiving approaching, I can’t help but list 22 things for which I am grateful.

  1. My family is filled with wonderful people who are always there when you need them.
  2. My husband is an amazing man and I’m truly lucky to be with him.
  3. Tuesday nights with my mother.
  4. Friday nights with my sister.
  5. My friends are few, but treasured.
  6. I have a job I love.
  7. I have time to write.
  8. My house is filled with the love of two dogs and two cats.  I don’t have children, so these are my babies.
  9. I don’t worry nearly as much as I did when I was younger.
  10. Every summer is an adventure in travel.
  11. There are always plenty of books to read.
  12. Music still moves my soul.
  13. Movies still stir my imagination.
  14. My muse sings on regular basis.
  15. There’s always chocolate in the pantry.
  16. I know the feeling of a rainy day in London.
  17. I can’t sleep, but I still know how to dream.
  18. My writer’s group is full of friends, inspiration, and encouragement.
  19. My blog connects me to readers and writers in a way I never expected.  Never have I been more motivated to write.
  20. Those moments of silence where I can breathe slowly and relish the feeling of being alive.
  21. Twinkling stars that never fade and trees that always sway.
  22. I’m happy.

For these things, I am truly thankful each and every day.

  1. Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday, because of the focus on gratitude. I love #20, and #8, having one dog and two cat kids myself, and # 16 of course. I hope you have a bountiful Thanksgiving.

  2. What a good idea, and beautiful list! timely too, considering it’s the American Thanksgiving tomorrow. All reminders of being thankful are good… In general, we tend to take too much for granted.

    [ps: you can’t sleep?]

  3. What an inspiring list and so fitting your who you are. I love the list and your thoughts.
I’ll be thinking about my list. I’m intrigued by 222 people making such a list. How could one keep track of that? Or does it matter as longs as the idea is out there.

What you are thankful for was published in the Arizona Republic today! Yipeee.
I will bring you a copy to WIG on Tuesday. Hope to see you there. I’m grateful for the chocolate you bring each week, Susanne

    • I’m so glad you had such a wonderful holiday. 🙂 This year was fun and meaningful for me, too. The food was great and it was nice to have the family together in one house for a little while. The next best thing is leftovers the day after.

how about making lists of things we’re grateful for every year on a special occasion (such as new year or birthdays) and the number of the things we’re grateful for must be the same as our ages. so each year, as we grew older, we also appreciate more things in our lives.

anyway, that’s just my idea. i like your list and totally agree with number 11. 🙂

I haven’t had much time to log in for a while but I’m so glad you did the list!! I love that you did things you were grateful for. It sounds like you have a great family, which I know is so important and am fortunate enough to have the same. It’s fun to sit and think of small things or the big things too that we all have in our lives! Glad you played along!!
