For about a month, I’ve kept a short story on my draft queue. I’m hesitant to post it because it is a departure from my usual style. Solitary Confinement has a darker abstract edge to it, which is decidedly different from my usual imagery. This is a story of how lack of control over pain (both physical and emotional) creates an innate sense of helplessness.
Due to my indecisiveness, I’ll leave up to my wonderful readers. The results of the poll below will determine tomorrow’s post.

Special Note: Due to some changes made by WordPress, be sure to uncheck the box that says, “Notify me of follow-up comments via email,” if you do not wish to receive e-mails for every new comment on this post. At the moment, the box is checked as a default, (and I can’t fix it).

I wondered why I was getting every comment. Is mine doing that too? That’s annoying. Why can’t they ever leave well enough alone?

I hate it when they fix something that isn’t broken. I can’t quite figure out the logic of inundating everyone with e-mail. I’m hoping there will be a strong enough uproar to reverse the decision.

If the votes tally in at “yes,” it’ll go up tomorrow morning. 🙂

This seems like a no-brainer…who is actually going to vote no? ;P

Well, there are a couple “other” votes, though without explanation! Regardless, I thought I’d leave it up to readers. The tone of the story isn’t anything like the usual fare on my blog, so I wanted to give a heads up and a choice. 🙂

It’s fun to see a different perspective. Branch out! Get out of your comfort zone and take us out of ours! It’s the best way to grow.

Now I’m curious! I do understand the battle, on whether to post or not. I’ve chosen not to share some of my art and my writing because they are part of a bigger whole and I don’t want them out of context. If you do post, I will be gone for a few days and won’t be able to read it till Monday.

Its one of those things I couldn’t decide on my own. Some pieces just seem a bit more personal, even though they are fiction, and that makes it more difficult to put them out there for people to read. 🙂
It’ll still be here on Monday. 🙂

Yes this new setting got me wondering why I was flooded with so many emails of comments!
Anyway, I’m here to look out for the story! 🙂 Post it, I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable for your readers!

The comments are such a mess – the least I could do was let my readers know so I could save them from an influx of e-mail.
I just did a final revision on the story and it is scheduled to post. 🙂 My readers have spoken!

Damn. I was going to vote ‘no’ but pressed the wrong button!

I was one of the “others” but only because I’ve heard if you post the entirety of your work, it’s considered published, whether on your blog or not. Something to be aware of perhaps. I don’t want to see you not able to sell it because of this. Maybe just a sliver of it? Enough to whet the appetite?

It’s a piece I have no intention of publishing outside of this outlet. I’m still learning the general scope of a short story, so I’m doing a lot of experimentation. This story is just me playing around with different conventions so I can find my niche. 🙂

This is cool! So glad you found out how to do a poll-might you use one at another time?
