Crowned by arches
lit by lamps
Choose wisely
more than once
Gilded handles
rusted knobs
Oiled hinges
sticky jambs
Ring the bell
tap the knocker
All will answer
seek no more
Walk on through
no key required
Its weird how inspiration works. Sometimes the words come before the picture and sometimes the photo decides what lines will be written. This picture has been in my queue for a while, but it was pretty quiet until this week. 🙂
Could be a writing prompt-what is behind the window, who was the last to walk out the door, what conversation occurred on the steps? Your words sound inviting.
Very good.

I shall choose wisely, as per your instructions, C.B. And shall, hopefully, seek no more… Beautiful poem!

What a beautiful blue door to match your beautiful words! (or vice versa!) 🙂

This door really stood out to me because of the color and all the flowers. It really stood out in a neighborhood where every entry looked the same. 🙂
