The cottage has a long history (or at least the concept of it) that dates back to the 1600s. Way back when an aviary was established by the royals on the grounds that are now St. James park. It now serves as the offices of the London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust.
That picture is exactly the way I picture an English garden behind a quaint little cottage and your poem certainly picks up on the serenity of the place. 🙂
So totally English, this photograph. Cottage gardens like this one whither away in North Carolina heat and humidity. But I feel ten degrees cooler just looking at your photo. Your poem is equally beautiful…..truly listening is a gift of the spirit.
Beautiful, both the poem and the photograph

Love the poem. Very nice picture too. What does this cottage house? I’m starting to imagine what this might look like in Winter…
