Rain threatens in the distance, but is still too far away. Grass crunches under my feet and creek beds run dry. An evening stroll in small town Indiana is full of stillness and silent adventure . . .

Nice. It’s like the pictures are waiting for the rain, or waiting for something. Being black and white it seems like they are old, or maybe incomplete.

We were hoping for rain, but it didn’t show up until the next day. The humidity is pretty sticky, though! 😉
At the moment, I’m having a lot of fun experimenting with black and white. It really makes me see light in a different way.

Love the photos, especially the mailboxes. That’s the kind of photo that makes me want to grab my camera and try for the artistic vision to see everyday items like that. Thanks.

I love mailboxes like this! We don’t really have them like this where I live, so I can’t help but take pictures of them. 🙂

somehow black and white images seem to capture texture in great detail.

They really do. I don’t always see it until I load them into my computer, but that setting really seems to pick up everything!

The photos are great. Love them in black and white. The bridge is the best. Glad you are relaxing!

The bridge looked black on my camera, so I was pleasantly surprised when I uploaded it! 🙂

These are more sepia than black and white. How did you do that?

For a couple of these shots I gave a little color boost and then switched on the black and white. It deepens the black and seems to create stronger shades of grey. 🙂

Reminds me of the walks I used to take near my grandmother’s farm. Hope you’re enjoying your summer. 🙂

Every time I come out here, I look forward to the daily walks. Even though I walked the same paths hundreds of times they are always filled with something new to see. 🙂

I love the effects of black & white. As someone already said, it does make the texture & grain of the wood pop. I think I’d be a little leery about walking on a bridge where the boards are starting to lift, though, and the last one is a bit spooky. It makes me wonder what’s waiting for me in the shadows. It would make a great writing prompt! 🙂

I was amazed at how the wood came out in that shot! 🙂
That bridge is far from rickety! It’s got a steel frame. 😉

Great shots! Don’t know that I would cross that bridge, you know how I feel about that! Unless maybe there was a White Castle on the other side. Hey!!! Isn’t there a White Castle where you are??? I think so!

There’s a White Castle, but it takes 20 minutes to get there!
We walk that bridge every year and I love it. A pretty creek runs below.
