Reaching

Standard

Sworn secrets,
linger aloft
Lit by flames,
fueled by lies
Sacred smoke,
wisps and spins
Fevered hands,
claw the void

  1. Very powerful and beautiful words, much more so for those of us who have a passion for ancient Egypt, and know the fate that often befell the artists who worked within the tombs. The mystery of the image reminds me of works found within the ruins of, or attributed to, the city of Akhetaten / Tel el-Amarna. Thanks!

  2. It’s funny to see how much power words have when they’re put into their predestination. I love poetry because it flashes before my eyes like a movie, but it isn’t long. And most importantly, poems need to have a soul – just like your poems have. Thanks for sharing!! I bet I’ll be back later to experience it again. 😉

  3. I love how your words have captured the essence of the image. It almost looks as though the hands have 5 fingers and a thumb. Maybe aliens were locked away in the tombs so many millennia ago. 😉
