Project Spirit Journal: Life

Standard

How we choose to approach the question will always be more important than the answer.

I’ll always trust a winking owl.

What aspect of life will always be a mystery?

For me, the practice of pessimism has never made any sense.

  1. Love this, C.B.!! The owl winking, as if he is wise enough to know the answer, but insists on each of us discovering it for ourselves. Sometimes we get caught up in the problems, instead of remembering the mystery, expecting miracles and synchronicities, and enjoying the ride. Here’s hoping we don’t keep forgetting!

  2. seeing life as a mystery to be explored turns the journey into one of revelation and wonderment. When we see it as a problem to be solved, we go round and round in circles, inside our head, and cause sickness of the soul within ourselves.

  3. Owls have always held a special place in my heart, so I find this page absolutely charming. As for the sentiment, it makes perfect sense to me – and I can’t understand pessimism either. Why dwell on the worst that can happen when you can anticipate good things in your future? πŸ™‚

      • I’ve often used wrapping paper as the background for cards, as well as wallpaper samples. So, is the gift wrap paper the purple patterned background, or the owls or both? The purple paper actually looks like a ribbed material such as corduroy. πŸ™‚

      • I kind of thought so. It is very cute paper. I have quite a collection of owly things, myself: two wood carvings, a stuffed owl in a wreath in autumn colours, an owl punch for cards, an owl stamp and an embossing plate with an owl. In addition to all that, one of the characters in my book is called Owl and for my book launch I found a life-sized puppet of a snowy owl that I popped up during the graveyard scene when Michelle heard the owl. YOu might think I”m rather obsessed with them – and you’d be right! πŸ™‚
