After more than two years of the same image for my gravatar, I decided it was time for a change. The black and white road that has defined me on like buttons and comments was special to me as it had a special connection to my first novel. While that image is still important to me, it does not represent my current obsession with Novel #2.
For long time blogosphere friends, I might look like a stranger on your sites, so I thought I’d introduce my new identifying image. As I gear up for WriteOnCon and the next steps for Novel #2, I wanted to create an image that not only reflects the novel, but also serves as a beacon of inspiration. The compass has always been a strong symbol to me personally, which is why it’s only natural it ended up in my novel. It’s only fitting that it should become my new gravatar:

The nice thing is how they have it organized. Once you find your category, there isn’t nearly as much to learn. What forum are you looking at joining?

I’m in YA – Fantasy, under S.D. Bullard. Where are you and what’s the title of your work? I would love to read whatever you have posted there 🙂

I’ll look for you. I’m in the YA forum, too. I posted in the query critique forum. Do a search for The Muse, (the possible working title of Novel #2 – I haven’t decided yet!) and it’ll pop right up.

I sent it in last night! 🙂 I guess spending all that time on it this summer was worthwhile.

I do, too. It may come back one day, but for now the compass fits my journey.

Is that a photo of your necklace? it is lovely and very fitting since so many times I arrive here to find travel pics. A nice change. 🙂

It’s not my necklace. The design elements of my necklace weren’t quite right, so I downloaded a free image and altered it with a photo editor. 🙂

When I started this blog, I tried to make one myself … a cat in the shape of an at-sign or the other way around ..

Compasses have long held special meaning to me (my necklaces being evidence of that!), but my sentimental attachment to them is also something I worked into Novel #2. Now they are even more special to me! 🙂
