I was thinking “Arsenal BLUE? – their away strip is yellow!” But then they do have blue shorts, and there is such a thing as poetic license.

Poetic license is to blame – yellow had too many syllables and there is blue on their “socks” and canon logo. I figured I could get away with it. 😉

You could, of course, have said ‘Arsenal red, Manchester blue’. Manchester City plays in blue.

True, but the match I watched on Sunday was Manchester Red. 🙂

‘The Other Life’ reminds me of my times at the cottage, escaping the constant unnatural noise of the city. I love that the sweetness of your second poem came in the form of victory, not chocolate! The last poem fit the photo to a ‘T’. 🙂

The first one was inspired by returning home to Northern Wisconsin this summer. The woods are such a contrast to the big city.
For the second, I wanted something a little obvious than sugar. Watching a soccer match in the morning gave me plenty to play with!
