Timeless pillars dismantled to slivers and shards,
No apology or appreciation, just betrayal
Tossed into a heap of oblivion,
relics of things forgotten slowly disappear
Useless refuse or outdated rubbish,
progress or desecration, you make the call
Does ignorance forgive the unforgivable,
or does a strong memory undo the crime?
Pulled from the wreckage, purpose reclaimed,
something new the pillars became

Makes me think of our conversation the other day about the loss of the past.

I found it interesting that we had that conversation as I had written this the day before. It’s rather fascinating that the topic came to visit, again. 🙂

I’ve always been fascinated by repurposing objects. I like how all the ‘slivers and shards’ of the ‘Timeless pillars’ fit together so beautifully in Weiwei’s piece. One wants to feel the textures and colors.

I wanted to reach out and touch it so badly! So many textures and pieces to consider!
