The Writer’s Digest 2013 November Poem A Day Chapbook Challenge is still going strong! If you’re looking for some poetic reading, consider checking out the submissions for each day of the challenge. There are so many talented poets submitting really beautiful lines!
Here are my latest submissions:
November 16, 2013
Prompt: Write a half-way poem.
November 17, 2013
Prompt: Write an element poem. Maybe an element from the periodic table (hydrogen, oxygen, etc.). Maybe an element of surprise?!? Or a missing element, which could refer to a person, tool, or poem.
November 18, 2013
Prompt: Write a “forget what I said earlier” poem. This poem could be a response to a poem you wrote earlier in the challenge (or just earlier in general). Or it could cover one of those moments when you say something that ends up proving wrong or that you wish you’d taken back.

I love the image of leaves, ‘riding the feathers of fate’. Where will they land?
Of the three, I think I like the humor in the middle poem – Elementary! 🙂
The last has a wonderful message: Living with regret is not living but dying bit by bit, so make amends.

Glad you enjoyed them. The prompts for this challenge are definitely making me stretch. Who knew I could write poetry with a sense of humor? 😉

The last one is so true and could be made into a plaque. Loved the Watson poem too.
The leaves are so dreamy.

There’s nothing quite as lovely as a falling leaf. It’s got a million stories and I always want to tell them. 🙂
