When walking into the grocery store I passed an after Christmas sale table. Amid the leftover junk, there was a tiny live pine tree looking for a home. He was so cute, I decided to adopt him. For the bargain price of $2.99 I brought home a little brother for the potted pine tree I rescued last year.
Isn’t it adorable?
For the record, this little guy is only about 5 inches tall!
I managed to keep last year’s pine tree alive, so I’m hoping for the same luck. The older pine tree has double in size and he’s already itching for a new, bigger pot. Perhaps, this growing machine will be an inspiration for my new little munchkin.
My baby tree a glowing reminder that joy resides in the little things. Every day I smile, when I see him catching the sun.

Your new rescue is adorable. My favorite thing this week was watching my male cat,Gabriel, fall in love with a bouquet of flowers. He rose up to hug them and bury his nose in the petals.

Awww, hopefully he’s not munching on those flowers! 🙂

No, he doesn’t munch, just smells and hugs. We also make very sure the flowers are not lilies or any other kind that would be harmful to him.

We bought a rosemary tree after Christmas. Right now it’s in the kitchen and the wonderful smell makes me smile too.

My sister got one of those last year and it was a wonderful little tree. I have a rosemary bush in my yard and that thing grows like crazy! The smell is heavenly! 🙂

How adorable! : ) My favorite thing so far this week was reading “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry to my students. Watching their reaction as I read them the last paragraph (and tried not to cry) was amazing.

I love little pines…I’d like to have one that can live indoor and be our Christmas tree each year. Great find!

I got the first potted pine with that in mind. Next, he might be big enough to serve as a our Christmas tree. 🙂

What a sweet little guy! Two faves this week: seeing 6 bluebirds frolicing in the bare tree branches while on my neighborhood walk, and renting an apartment in Paris for a trip there next fall.
