Pillars

Standard

Borrowed from time,
fooling the eye
Staking their claim,
where money plays
Pericles gawks,
and rolls his eyes
Wisdom has left,
greed takes its place
The homeless sleep
on hidden streets
Expensive suits,
pretend to cry
The pillars watch,
unworthy spines
