Stone fingers reach,
bound by the ground
Rooted to life,
dreaming of white
Hope has wandered,
from up above
Wishing to touch,
Tangled in trees,
carried by wind
The chance passes,
but no one grieves

Very evocative poem based on a beautiful photo. I found it conjured images of hope and regret at the same time.
Thanks. After looking past what is a beautiful scene, I couldn’t help but notice “the push and pull” between the sky and the land. Nature is full of contrasts, as is life. 🙂
Interesting that there appears to be layers in the photo; grass, trees, different trees, etc.
Then the layers of the poem and it all pulled together.
I noticed the same when i spent some time with the image. The layers of color are what really stuck out to me – blues, browns, and greens. They all stand on their own, but also blend together.
Yes, the layers in this both image and words are outstanding!
Gorgeous in every way! Love the reaching stony fingers…what an amazing picture. 🙂
Thanks so much! 🙂 This is one of those “once in a lifetime” shots. It’s truly one of my treasures, not only for the memories of that day, but also for the beauty of such an amazing place.
