Limited view,
giant ego
Selfies give fame,
to those who crave
Liars run wild,
addicts eat light
Stuck in a void,
hapless android
A fake life thrives
as living dies

Thanks – I found it on a great site that focuses on photographing architecture and sculpture. Once I saw the shot, I knew it fit my poem. 🙂

What an interesting crack: I can’t imagine how that happened. It looks like Sylvester Stallone which stayed in my mind as I read the poem.

It could either be from erosion or just a mistake by the carver. 🙂

As a teacher, I spend a large part of my day asking my students to put the phones down. They get so caught in the virtual world, they are missing out on the real world. Technology is amazing, but sometimes I wonder if we are capable of finding some sort of balance between what is real and what is not.

Oh yes, I think this describes that fake thinking and existence very well! And so much of it around too. Sad though, selfies and internet life can be good fun, even educational at times, but it needs limits, and heads can swell out of proportion – I’ve met and unfollowed quite a few! 😉 Pity really, those head swelling people have no idea that others find them a little pathetic. I love your picture too, really gets that message across. 🙂

I agree online life can be fun, but like with all things balance is key. 🙂 How easy it is lose ourselves to that online persona – so much so that we forget what it is to be real. To me that concept is quite frightening.
