Sway

Standard

Feet off the ground,
dangling down
Clinging to ropes,
that do not bind
A wood plank seat,
my captain’s chair

Nothing but air,
back and forth sway
Wind in my hair,
breeze in my face
Toes to the sky,
heavenly ride

  1. Beautiful image and beautiful words! My in-laws had a great, old-fashioned tire swing out at their place that came down this spring when a big storm took out the branch that it was on. 😦 I’m hoping they can find a new home for it. My kids are generally too old for swings – but not that one! There’s something about an old-fashioned swing. 🙂

    • There was a great tire swing at a park near my Dad’s for a long time, but it met the same fate as your beloved swing. They never found a new home for it and I always keep wishing they will.
