I can’t believe it’s already Week 3 of the 2014 November PAD Chapbook Challenge! Here are my latest entries:

November 18, 2014
Prompt: Two for Tuesday – 1. Sweet 2. Sour

Sweet kiss of summer
fades to brown and then to white
the sour bite of frost

– – –

November 19, 2014
Prompt: Write and excuse poem.

Excuse the river
for coaxing the shoreline’s curve
Ebb and flow artist

– – –

November 20, 2014
Prompt: Take the phrase “I’ll Never (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write the new poem.

I’ll Never Be Still

I’ll never be still
my branches weep with the howls
of cold, lonely winds

– – –

November 21, 2014
Prompt: Pick a direction on the compass, make it the title of your poem, and write that poem.

I. North Star

Constellations spin
full of whimsy, compass lost
let the North Star speak

II. East of Midnight

Just east of midnight
mist lingers on calm waters
pale light before dawn
