30 Haikus in 30 Days: 22-24

I can’t believe there’s only a little less than a week left in the 2014 November PAD Chapbook Challenge (via Poetic Asides on Writer’s Digest). As always, it goes much too fast.

A few days ago, I counted my haikus for the month and found I have indeed reached my goal of 30 Haikus in 30 Days!  My overzealous muse often felt the need to write more than one poem for each prompt. Cue the happy dance!

Here are my latest entries …

November 22, 2014
Prompt: Release

See Sunday Abroad: Blossom

Barren plain of ice
melts with the warm touch of spring
water’s sweet release

November 23, 2014
Prompt: Alone

Yellow cactus bloom
overdressed in bright color
alone in the sand

Far in the thicket
a lonely path weaves between
sunbeams and shadows

November 24, 2014
Prompt: Take the phrase “I’ll Be (blank),” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.

I’ll Be Fluttering

Dandelion seed
on whimsical gusts of wind
I’ll be fluttering
