morning brings magic
to wooded paths
and open sidewalks
silence slowly fades
to steaming coffee cups
and chatty birds
dawn’s white sky
trickles through leaves
reflects on windows
until the blue of day
chases the clouds
and daily joggers
There in plain sight
a waking sun
sprinkles the shadows
with glittering light
Inviting a pause
to seize the magic
of a new day

From the poem…
“dawn’s white sky
trickles through leaves
reflects on windows
until the blue of day
chases the clouds”
I love this portion and from the image, I love the way the light is caught on those slanted leaves…such beauty!

Thank you, Hannah. I’m playing a lot with free verse of late. My only rule is it can’t take any longer than 10 minutes to write. I’m kind of amazed at the results, so far.
The light hitting those leaves is what made me take the shot. It literally looked like fairy dust floating down. 🙂

How cool!! I’m so glad I picked up on that specific detail as well…we’re kindred poetic spirits!! Great idea the 10 min limit!
