These prints are from one of my favorite collections of Japanese woodblock prints – One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. I find endless inspiration from them! 🙂

I have to say I prefer seasonal haiku where the season isn’t mentioned directly, but rather suggested by an image. Nevertheless these are spare and delicate, and that works.

I typically don’t like to mention the season outright, either! But that’s how the cookie crumbled this time around! I’m hoping to revisit these during the rewrite phase to see if I can create more subtle imagery. 🙂
