Photo: Alley in London, c.b.w. 2005 – I’m feeling nostalgic. This is a photo I took during my second trip to London and it’s always been among my favorite. It’s an alley near Trafalgar Square and I snapped this picture as soon as my tour group wandered out of frame. I lost them for a little while and enjoyed the time I had by myself. Eventually, I found my way back to them and it was then they realized I was a wanderer and they needed to keep an eye on me. It’s the last time I traveled with a group – from then on I’ve been planning my own trips so I’m free to wander freely.

Little lost places in London can be fascinating. Or so I remember from several decades ago.

The funny thing is, I’ve never been able to find that alley, again. I’ve tried three times already!

It looks like Goodwins Court which runs between St Martin’s Lane and Bedfordbury – the sign writing on the arch indicates 24 and 23 Bedfordbury. You can see a photo on Geograph – https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5371633

I knew it was somewhere around St. Martins, but thank you so much for the extra directions. Next time I’m in London, I’ll definitely try again (with a much better sense of direction!).
