One early morning, I found myself in Kilkenny, Ireland. The sun had barely risen and the only shop open was thankfully a coffee shop. The streets were deserted and sidewalks devoid of people – the busy tourist mecca was a ghost town and just waiting to be explored.
I wandered down the main street and then turned off into a few side streets, where I captured a few images of this Irish town.
No cars spoiled my view of a curved street lined with colorful buildings holding everything from retail shops, restaurants, and flats.
Throughout Kilkenny (and most other Irish towns) flowers adorn curbs and street lamps and offer a bright dash of color.
Down a rather narrow alley, I spotted this interesting view through old stone walls and crooked stairs.
While I wasn’t there for very long, I have more lovely memories of my stroll down winding streets, than I do of the main attraction, Kilkenny Castle.
