Photo: St. Dunstan in the East, London, c.b.w. 2006

A church hollowed out by the bombs of WWII, stubbornly holds on to it’s pride and sense of purpose. Where people once worshipped, a stone skeleton stands covered in vines, flowers, and the warm summer sun. A place to find solace, this is a pocket of quiet in a bustling city. Still, if you sit and listen, there are echoes of the past. This place has stories to tell and if you’re lucky you might just hear one.

Photo: Alley in London, c.b.w. 2005 – I’m feeling nostalgic. This is a photo I took during my second trip to London and it’s always been among my favorite. It’s an alley near Trafalgar Square and I snapped this picture as soon as my tour group wandered out of frame. I lost them for a little while and enjoyed the time I had by myself. Eventually, I found my way back to them and it was then they realized I was a wanderer and they needed to keep an eye on me. It’s the last time I traveled with a group – from then on I’ve been planning my own trips so I’m free to wander freely.
